“Hotep!” 

In my ancestral language, it means “be at peace, be free, be open.”  Listen with the ears of your heart as I speak to you through the mouth of my heart. Be still and allow to pour from you whatever desires to come forward.

I am so glad you’ve come to visit.

I am an Elder. I believe in magick, I walk the world seeing its symbolic layers. I talk the language of symbols. I see the Invisible; I hear what is not spoken. I am an Elder.

I love water: pool, river, lake and Ocean. Nothing inspires me more than the gurgling crashing language of water moving over rocks or through waves crashing upon the hardened sand. I love seeing the world through the lens of “Everything is a miracle.”

My favorite miracle is the human body in all her complexities. I love that “she is always trying to talk with us”; and I love the invitation to explore what her language is and how to receive her wisdom. 

For a long time I explored the mystery of that communication through writing and teaching symbol and metaphors. And through being a medical doctor for over 40 years—  I learned there to become enchanted by the inner  invisible workings of the body and I learned to distrust the science that is commonly accessible in the mainstream. 

To heal from the disconnection I felt from American mainstream medicine, I turned to the Elders of my culture to immerse myself in ancestral roots, ancestral knowledge and wisdom, and ancestral spirituality. That’s where I discovered how much symbols were encrypted and inscribed in my cells and in my DNA. I learned how deeply symbols instruct the way I think, the way I know, and the way I move in the world. 

Then I discovered painting and then metacognitive drawing. And now I play with images that come freely; and, in the right timing, ask me to pick up pen and paper or tap on computer keys to combine writing with the images. The result is better health and relaxation in the body, better access to problem solving, inspiration, and more joy! 

Among other clients, I often help professionals who feel they lost their soul while busy climbing the professional ladder. Usually, they are beginning to feel empty and disconnected; they may have chronic health problems, like arthritis and high blood pressure. We learn to play in the sandbox of Mystery and Soul. And they leave with a renewed sense of purpose, of meaning, and of grounded confidence that they can go for their dreams rather than stay in positions that drain their vitality and energy.  

These days, I revel in uncovering the great mystery of BE-ing. That’s what animates me and lifts my heart.  Experimenting in this mystery brings tears to my eyes: tears of joy, tears of feeling deeply moved and touched and tears of connecting with you as you come visit. 

Can we come together across time and space and touch hearts and energy? I believe we can. I exist because we can. My work is to bring forth the gifts that emerge for us to harvest as we do so.
